Angel's Story
“Quitting my job was one of the scariest and most exciting moments of my life, because at that moment I knew my world would never be the same.”

I had been working in tech for several years and managed to work my way up to become a team lead and top performer, and then a promotion was laid out on the table before me.
Rather than feeling excited, I knew something felt wrong.
Most people my age probably would have grabbed with both hands, however that offer really made me stop and think.
On one hand I could see a clear career track laid out before me, along with all the things I would need to do to work my way up that oh so popular corporate ladder and retire before the age of forty.
But on the other hand I could see all the reasons why I didn’t want to take the plunge.
For starters, that career track didn’t feel like an opportunity, it felt like a trap.
It was as if I could see all the years ahead of me and how they would unfold, and none of them excited me.
I also knew that if I took that opportunity, I would keep getting tempted by bigger and bigger paychecks that would be much harder to say no to.
But the biggest reason why I wasn’t excited about that opportunity was because I knew that if I took it, I’d be moving further and further away from what I care about.
Helping people directly!
Being able to help people was what had always brought me the most energy growing up, and I knew if I followed this career track, there would be little other than hitting performance indicators.
So I was faced with a really big choice.
Follow the temptation of a steady career and an enticing paycheck, or do something that really mattered.
To me the career track I ended up on was far removed from the type of service I had envisioned myself being a part of.
So I made the decision to take the leap. The scariest part was, I didn’t even know what I was going to do next.
One thing was certain, quitting my job was one of the scariest and most exciting moments of my life, because at that moment I knew my world would never be the same.
I spent the next 12 months trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life.
I lived in multiple monasteries and attended as many personal development workshops as possible. Searching for my next pillar of meaning in life.
It took me seven months of traveling around the country to figure out what my next calling was, only for me to find my calling when my next door neighbor knocked on my door and invited me to a life coaching seminar.
Sitting in that seminar absolutely changed my life, because I realized that coaching was exactly what I was supposed to be doing.
I immediately registered and started working toward my accreditation with the institute for professional excellence in coaching (iPEC).
In doing so, not only have my clients started to discover what career would bring them passion and excitement back into their lives, but they’ve also become more productive and healthier versions of themselves along the way.
Not only do I feel that I’m doing the exact type of work I was meant to be doing, but I’m also finally feeling fulfillment in other aspects of my life by way of proxy to doing what I find deeply rewarding.
I know what it’s like to be working at a job you hate, and feeling that call to do something different but not knowing quite what it is, but I also know how scary it is to take that leap into the abyss.
So if you’re thinking about quitting a job you absolutely hate, but are terrified of the idea at the same time, book a free 30 minute call with me where I’ll help you get clear on what you want to do with your life and what you need to do to make it happen.
